New at NHBC?

Choosing a church for you and your family is not always easy.  You may be looking for a place of encouragement or a place to seek Biblical wisdom and knowledge.  Maybe you are looking for a place where your children and/or teens can begin building the foundations of faith.  Or, you might be looking for a church that is focused on missions and spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ.  No matter what you are searching for, we pray that you will find a place at NHBC to worship and serve.

What time do the Services start?

Sunday School (Bible Study) classes for all ages begin promptly at 9:30 AM.

Morning Worship Service is at 10:30AM. We are usually out around 11:45AM.

Sunday evening worship service starts at 6PM!

Wednesday evening prayer service starts at 6:00PM.

Child care and/or age appropriate activities are provided during all services.

What are people like at New Hope?

NHBC is a diverse church made up of many people from all walks of life; we are a church of all age groups and all backgrounds!  The church resembles the community of which it is a part. What is significantly different is that the people who make up the church are on a journey towards becoming passionately devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Some are further along in that journey than others, and that should make connecting much easier.

What do I wear?

Come as you will feel comfortable and accepted regardless of what you choose to wear.  Most people attend services in business-casual clothing, but you will also see some suits and ties as well as blue jeans.  The most important thing to remember is that God sees our heart and God cares about our heart more than He cares about our style of clothing.  During the Gulf Coast summers, children usually wear shorts and T-shirts.

Does NHBC have child care and a nursery?

YES! New Hope is very proud of the many different children’s ministries we offer.  From our loving nursery workers to our gifted Children’s Church leaders, we have a place of worship from new born to toddlers and beyond. We offer nursery and age appropriate activities during all regular church service times. On Wednesday evenings we offer nursery and Team Kid for the older children.

Where do I go and where do my children go when we arrive?

We have many Greeters that are waiting for you and your family with a smile. They are easy to spot, and can be found at main entrance points. They will be more than glad to guide you in the right direction.

What do I do before the service starts?

If you arrive before the service starts, you will notice that our worship center is an auditorium filled with pews (benches). There are no reserved seats, so you may sit anywhere. As you enter the Worship Center, you will receive a copy of the Worship guide which gives you information on the many happenings at NHBC, as well as an order of worship. You will also see special activities projected on the large screen located above the platform area of the worship center. Please ask someone, and they can show you the way to water fountains and restrooms.

Do I need to give money when I visit?

NHBC does encourage generous giving.  Our guests are not expected to give financially unless they choose to do so. However during the offering time, if you have filled out the Guest Registration Form, we do ask you to drop it in the offering plate.

What if I don’t have a Bible?

You will find a copy of the Bible located in every pew rack. You will also find the verses for the message projected on the large video screen.  If you do not own your own personal copy of the Bible, we will be glad to provide you with copy.

What is the invitation time about?

At the end of his message, during an invitation song, the Pastor will offer an invitation                   (an opportunity for people to come to the front of the Worship Center to talk with the Pastor about their needs).  During this time he will invite anyone who does not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ to receive Him. He will also ask those who would like to become part of our church family or to be baptized to make that known. This is also the opportunity for those who have special prayer needs to come to the front and pray.

How do I become a member of New Hope Baptist Church?

  • Trusting Jesus as your Lord and Savior and following Him in believers baptism
  • Transferring your membership from another church of like faith
  • Joining on your statement of faith that you have been saved and baptized by immersion
  • Affirming your commitment to Christ and participating in believers baptism by immersion

Anything Else?

We all understand it can be intimidating your first time at a new church. We have all been there ourselves! If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask. We would love to have the chance to meet you or help during your visit at New Hope.  We hope you feel at home and "like one of the family" during your visit.
